I'm mexican and I don't like beer with lemon juice. Even though so many people like it, and specifically that bottled limo-beer. Here in Mexico that beverage is made by Cuahutemoc-Moctezuma while Corona hasn't made any limo-beer which speaks well of Corona.

Ola Katia, como vai? Tudo bem? Faz muito tempo que não comunicamos, e confeso que tenho saudade de nossas conversas sobre os temas que me fascina como isto. I certainly can't speak to the theory that you're discussing, but I think I grasp the concept. Every time I try to explain "tenho saudade" or "dar um jeito" to a non-Brazilian, whether in English or Spanish, I am always always always unhappy with my explanation, because it never seems to capture o sentido of the phrase... And oh, the rice example is a perfect one. My wife, la dominicana, always decried the poor quality and taste of "what you Americans think is rice." The Dominicans fuss so much over the rice they buy, and then prepare it in oil on the stove and usually mix it with beans and flavorings. The kids (including my bicultural twins) fight to get the crunchy glazed rice at the bottom of the pot, con con. I have had gringo friends that go nuts about that, complaining how Dominicans "waste" and "ruin" the rice by "burning" it. They'll never understand, and they of course steam rice and only want the bland, unflavored, "polished" white rice. Me, I am most partial to Brazilian rice mixed with black beans... makes my mouth water just thinking about it. But probably wouldn't excite most non-Brazilians. And therein is the crux of what you were talking about, isn't it?

I find forcing a loud burp out in public is a rude way to set the tone of a conversation. Its a sneaky way for people to see what they can get away with. No need to loose a friend to burping, but it is important to respond to an inappropriate burp by telling the person what you think. I bet they won't do it again. I you don't they will continue and in some cases 'up the ante' by doing even ruder things to see how you will respond. Would you do something rude to your friend and if you were accidently annoying them, wouldn't you want them to say.

very insightful, couldn't agree more. i'm curious what the sales volume is in Brazil given the propensity to go natural and add the lime vs sales volume in the US where it might take just a bit of extra effort to have that lime on hand. Last I saw both Chill and BudLight Lime came out of the gates doing well but might have been tailing off a bit...

I've always thought that doing dishes is one of the most annoying household chores. I like doing them by hand as well, however, because putting clean dishes away from the dishwasher is more difficult than just getting it all done at once!
